No matter what your life looks like today, you can easily turn it into a smash hit, number 1 with a bullet.
You can wake up every day saying, “This is exactly how I want to live. This is a great life.” Once you can do this, you’re a smash hit.
To make your life number 1 with a bullet, you must:
- Decide
- Change
- Practice
Decide
All change begins in the mind. It starts with a conscious decision.
Before you can begin the process of change, you must reach your turning point. If you have more than one child, you have most likely had a turning point experience.
Your children are fighting and you ask them to stop. They may stop for a second but soon continue fighting. After several attempts, you finally announce – “That’s it, I’ve had enough.”
Once you make that statement, things usually change very quickly. You have made a conscious decision to change your situation.
You must do the same thing to turn your life in a better direction.
Think of your present situation like a rubber ball.
If you drop that ball, it will continue in one direction (downward) until one of two things happens:
- It runs out of energy
- It hits another surface (like the floor) and changes direction (up.)
A person who completely runs out of energy and fails to move in any direction is called a corpse. Therefore while you are alive, you are in motion – which way are you moving?
If you do not reach a turning point in your life, it will continue to move in its present direction.
A turning point is when you say – that’s it – I’ve had enough – no more.
Once you reach that point in your life, your direction will change instantly, just like the rubber ball will change direction immediately after coming into contact with the ground.
It takes time for the ball to travel back into your hand after changing direction, but the movement begins instantly.
To begin to live a superstar life, you must first reach your turning point and make a conscious decision to change.
Change
I am so sneaky. By using my rubber ball example, I just snuck a couple of universal laws of success right under your nose.
See, no mystery to universal laws. The rubber ball was an illustration of the laws of gravity, motion and energy.
Nothing weird about it. Sorry to disappoint.
You are part of the same universe as the rubber ball and therefore the same rules apply.
That’s all universal laws are about. They are not mystic at all. They are the same laws that you live with every day without giving them a thought. If you want to use secret potions and magic fairy dust, be my guest, but it’s not necessary.
But by actually thinking about how these laws work in the universe, you can learn to apply them to your life.
After deciding to change, you must then act on your decision.
You cannot keep living the same way and expect different results.
You have had years of practice with the old ways of thinking and obviously they are not working for you. It’s time to practice a new way of approaching life.
You must change the way you are looking at your world.
Practice
Just like any new habit, however, you must practice every day. You must make a conscious effort to have a more positive attitude toward your future.
Eventually your new lifestyle and way of thinking will become habit.
You will be able to do it without thinking, but for now, it will take some effort to change your direction.
Stick with it.

Black History Month Contest
The end of the month is near and no one has come up with the correct guess, yet. This means you can still win a Purpose Driven Woman Boot Camp DVD courtesy of Taquila Coleman.
Simply guess who the number 1 Black History influence will be and if you are first, you win !!!

As Rhonda Bryne says in her “Secret”, life’s summed in three: Ask, Believe, Receive…
It starts with a decision, a will to change and a belief in the new situation..
Thanks for such an article..i enjoyed it
You will find a lot of the concepts from the Secret in this blog. I expand on them quite a bit, though.
Great post, Sandi!! So instructive and practical!!
Awesome! Thanks for including my post. Much appreciation to you!
This is so true, in order to change your life you must change. Doing the same-thing over and over and expecting different results is insanity.
I love how you change up your blog.
Great post again.
Taquila
I am not fond of the pink plaid but I couldn’t figure out how to get rid of it.
Thanks, Taquila.
Well said. Another great post! I am sure I will put a link back to it. Keep inspiring!
Would the number one black history influence be President Obama?
Very close. He was number 2.
I should have known…only a woman can be #1…has to be his wife Michelle! ; )
Nope. Even though I really admire her, she didn’t make the list because more people had an effect on my life.
Keep guessing, though.
Hmmmm well, I can say that Whitney Houston had a profound effect on my life and I saw her as an amazing woman with great stregth even though she fought her own demonds later in life. If this list is your personal list, I am going to go with Whitney and her stregth, courage and beauty. Otherwise, I would have to go with Archbishop Desmond Tutu. : )
Enjoy your day!
I’ll give you a hint. Read my post from February 6 and see if you can guess.
Don Cornelius!!! Soul Train…I learned to dance from that show! Uh oh…am I way off here? LOL
Yep.
You were closest with Barack Obama. Keep trying, though.
The Reverand Jesse Jackson. Wow…I am no good at this at all but I am really enjoying trying. ; )
No. Keep trying.
Actually you are quite good with Black History figures.
I love Black History…my favorite author is Maya Angelou. Two of my favorites movies Alex Haley’s Roots and The Color Purple. I could never process how society ever came up with the thought that it was some how ok to own another human being.
You’ll get it, I’m sure. I spoke with Taquila earlier and she’s getting your prize ready.
Who is Condoleezza Rice for the win? Whoo Hoo???
The accomplishments of Herman Cain can not be ignored, he would have to be my next guess.
I woke up this morning fired up and ready to move in a different direction and then I read Turn Your Life Into a Smash Hit!! Thank you for the confirmation. I am a child of the Universe attracting into my existence just what I send out!!!
I love your blog!!!
You knew what direction you wanted to take before you read this blog. It was the right way for you to go.
Sometimes, though, it really helps when we get outside confirmation of what we have already decided on the inside.
Don’t rely on outside confirmation, though. You have a good, sound mind that is able to make good decisions. Rely on that.
My guess for the #1 person for Black History is Harriet Tubman. She was a woman of strength, conviction, compassion, courage, mystery who selflessly led slaves to freedom.
Next, I enjoyed this post. Let’s all decide to practice how to bounce the balls in our lives and invent the change(s) we need.
Thanks. I like that – bouncing the balls you need.
Harriet Tubman was a good guess, but it’s not correct. Hint – look on my February 6th post. There is a clue there.
Colin Powell!!!
