Now that we have learned to visualize and we are determined to live in the creative realm of the future, we can begin to create progress by writing our goals.
WHY GOALS ARE IMPORTANT
Aspiration creates appetite.
Goals give us an appetite to get what we need to live a full and happy life. They give our subconscious mind something constructive to do.
Goals are like magnets. They give us something to move toward. Without goals, no movement will take place. Our thoughts move toward our goals.
Having goals deliberately throws your system out of order. You will develop the creativity needed to produce a new order, you will move naturally in the direction of your goals.
Human beings need movement in order to live. We must always have goals to move toward. A lack of movement results in death. Goals are our life-force.
In order to be effective, goals must follow some strict rules.
- They must be stronger that the present
- They must be your idea
- You must create goals
- You must see yourself in the new role
- You must write your goals down
- You must work toward your goals
Stronger than the present
In order to create positive energy, the magnet must be strong enough to attract movement. A tiny magnet will not move an iron beam, but an electro-magnet will easily move it.
The beam is your present life. You must have strong goals in order to move it from its current position. Your goals must be much more attractive to you than your current situation or no movement will occur.
Your idea your energy
Goals will only work if they are your idea. You cannot achieve anything if you are doing it to please someone else.
Really decide what YOU want. Then you will have the energy to move toward it.
“Have to…” is bullying yourself and your subconscious will rebel. It will create obstacles.
If you do not create new goals of your own, you will duplicate your old goals in your mind and aimlessly drift through life…
OR…
…You will live your life according to goals established by someone else. If you have no goals of your own, you will become susceptible to the strongest suggestion from people that you hang around. You become a people-pleaser and live your life according to how others want you to live.
Neither choice will give you a happy life.
Visualization
You must be able to see yourself in your new role. Refuse to see anything bad.
Familiarize yourself with what you really want and moving toward it becomes automatic. The more specific your vision, the faster you travel, so be specific with your vision.
Remember not to worry about HOW. You don’t really know HOW a seed turns into a plant, but it does. You must first plant the seed and the how will come.
Worrying about how backs up your goals to fit your current reality. You will not get very far.
HOW is a waste of time and energy. Imagine waiting to plant a seed until you understand HOW it turns into a flower. The seed will most likely not get planted at all. Even if you do figure it out, this knowledge did nothing to enhance the growth of the seed. HOW will become apparent when it is needed.
Written
You must hold yourself accountable. To do this you must write your goals down.
Be positive. Write your goals as a mentor or coach would. See your potential (it is unlimited.) Believe in yourself and your abilities. Don’t look at the seed, see the plant it will become.
Limit yourself to 10 – 15 goals at a time. This will give you a chance to truly focus on the areas of your life that are most important to you. Set personal, family, spiritual, financial and community goals.
Read your goals every day. The more you read them the more energy you generate, the faster you will accomplish your new life. Morning and night are when your subconscious mind is most active, so at least read them at these times.
Remember, however that you are building your new life in the creative realm. Growth will take time although the seed begins its transformation almost as soon as it enters the soil.
Work
Goals without work are wishes. Once you plant the seed, you must water and weed it. You must be ready for the harvest when it occurs.
You must be committed, not just interested in achieving your goals.
You must get qualified to do whatever it takes to make your dream come true. Many people want to reach goals on easy street. You must still work toward any goal that is worthwhile.

WHO DO YOU THINK WILL BE #1?
Thank you for this very interesting post. Indeed, without clear goals our lives will go in the wrong direction!
One of the things I share all the time is that it doesn’t matter how big or how little your dreams are, if you do not have the incremental goals to get you to where you want to go, you wil remain in the same place, unchanged. Keep doing what you are doing! I see your blogs and they speak truth!
Thank you. I am subscribed to your blog also. Mutual admiration society 🙂
I found myself without goals once and it was aweful. It was like spinning my wheels. No reason to get up in the morning. Goals are really important.
